geboren 1975 in Saseni-Calarasi/ Moldaw­ien, ist Lit­er­atur­wis­senschaft­lerin und Schrift­stel­lerin und lebt in Bukarest. Sie veröf­fentlichte sechs Romane, ein The­ater­stück und mehrere Büch­er über die Zen­sur der Lit­er­atur im kom­mu­nis­tis­chen Rumänien. Sie wurde als Schrift­stel­lerin in Deutsch­land, Öster­re­ich, Frankre­ich und Polen aus­geze­ich­net. Der Roman Der erste Hor­i­zont meines Lebens (Orig­inalti­tel Kinder­land) erschien im Herb­st 2013 im Zsol­nay Verlag.

She stud­ied from 1992 to 1997 at the fac­ul­ty for philol­o­gy at the State Uni­ver­si­ty of Moldo­va in Chişinău; from 1997 to 2001 she did her doc­tor­ate in human­is­tic sci­ences (Philol­o­gy) at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bucharest. Author of six nov­els: Negris­si­mo, 2003 (award­ed in Moldo­va and Roma­nia), A Year in Par­adise, 2005 (trans­lat­ed into Ital­ian, 2009 and Ger­man, 2011), Kinder­land, 2013 (trans­lat­ed into Ger­man and Sloven­ian, 2015, best­seller at the 2013 Book­fest Book Fair, award­ed the Radio Roma­nia Cul­tur­al Prize for Prose, 2014 and the Crys­tal Prize at the Vileni­ca Inter­na­tion­al Fes­ti­val in Slove­nia, 2014), The Empire of the Spin­sters, 2015, Censor’s Note­book, 2017, The end of the road, 2018. She has writ­ten a the­atri­cal mono­logue in three acts : Cen­sor­ship for Begin­ners (Thanhauser, Otten­sheim, Aus­tria, 2014). She wrote and edit­ed vol­umes ded­i­cat­ed to Roman­ian inter­war nov­el, anti­com­mu­nist Roman­ian exile, Bucov­ina Peo­ple deport­ed in Siberia, com­mu­nist cen­sor­ship. She has been award­ed writer’s res­i­den­cies in Ger­many, Aus­tria, France and Poland.
